2. How We Use Your Information

Core App Functionality

• Location Services: To find nearby electric taxi drivers, calculate routes, provide real-time tracking, and ensure accurate pickup and drop-off locations
• Ride Matching: To connect you with the nearest available electric vehicle drivers
• Payment Processing: To process ride payments securely
• Customer Support: To provide assistance and resolve issues

Service Improvement

• Analyze usage patterns to improve app performance
• Develop new features and services
• Ensure safety and security of our platform

3. Permissions We Request

Location Permissions

• ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION: For precise GPS location to find drivers and navigate routes
• ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION: For general location services when precise location isn't available
• ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION: For ride tracking and safety features during active rides

Camera Permission

• CAMERA: To allow you to take profile photos or document verification (optional feature)

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:

• With Drivers: Limited information necessary for ride completion (pickup location, destination, contact details)
• Service Providers: Third-party services for payment processing, maps, and analytics
• Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect safety and security
• Business Transfers: In connection with mergers, acquisitions, or asset sales

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information:

• Encryption of sensitive data in transit and at rest
• Secure authentication and access controls

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to:

• Provide our services
• Comply with legal obligations

You may delete your account and personal data at any time directly from inside the ElektrikTaxi mobile app (Profile → Delete Account). Deletion is immediate and permanent: your user record, ride history, and any driver profile are removed and cannot be recovered. Authentication tokens are revoked as part of the deletion. Deletion can also be requested via the web form at /delete-account, which sends a confirmation link by email.

6a. Authentication Methods

You can sign in to ElektrikTaxi using any of the following methods:

• Email and password: A standard account created directly with us.
• Sign in with Google: We receive your name and email address from Google after you authorize the connection. We do not receive your Google password.
• Sign in with Apple: We receive a stable Apple user identifier and, if you allow it, your name and email address. You may choose to share Apple's private email relay address instead of your real email; we treat that the same as any other email.

We do not share your information with these identity providers beyond what is required to complete the sign-in.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of your personal information
• Correct: Update or correct inaccurate information
• Delete: Request deletion of your personal information
• Opt-out: Disable location services or marketing communications
• Data Portability: Request your data in a portable format

8. Location Data Specific Rights

Regarding location information:

• You can disable location services in your device settings
• The app requires location access for core functionality
• Background location is only used during active rides
• Location history is stored for ride records and customer support

9. Third-Party Services

Our app integrates with third-party services:

• Google Maps: For mapping and navigation services
• Google Sign-In: For optional sign-in with a Google account
• Sign in with Apple: For optional sign-in with an Apple ID
• Payment Processors: For secure payment handling
• Pusher: For real-time ride status updates
• Analytics Services: For app performance and usage analysis

These services have their own privacy policies governing their use of information.

10. Children's Privacy

Our services are not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by:

• Posting the updated policy in the app
• Updating the "Last Updated" date
• Sending notifications for significant changes

12. International Data Transfers

As we operate in Albania and use international service providers, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than Albania. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.
